Tips, Tricks, and Treats of the Web-Based Interview (WBI)

Hey guys! It's me again and I'm going to discuss the in's and out's of the web-based interview, or as the Disney community call it, the WBI.

The first step in applying for the Disney College Program is to submit your resume to www.disneycollegeprogram.com. This process takes about 15-30 minutes, but you are able to save it and finish it later. Once you submit your resume, wait a couple hours to a couple days to receive your web-based interview email that has a link that takes you to this part of the application process.

Okay, once you receive your email, I would wait until you are in a good area/place to be able to concentrate on your answers. This part of the application process is probably the most difficult and tricky. The questions will be worded in a couple different ways, and a couple of different times, so watch out! I had my mom sitting there helping me answer the questions because this is what I had failed on the first time I applied. We answered the questions slowly and carefully (they are time-limited, HOWEVER don't underestimate the time! Time is actually a lot longer than what it will seem like when doing the interview, but it isn't! So TAKE YOUR TIME!). My tip for this part is just remember how you answered certain questions, such as:

  • How are you with tardiness?
  • How are you with messes?
  • Cleanliness?
  • Friendliness?
  • etc.
They will ask these types of questions a thousand different ways, so beware. I would also wait a day before you attempt to complete the WBI that way you're not rushing into it without thinking clearly! That was another fault I had done my first time applying, and waiting definitely helped! If you wait, you won't have the excitement jitters, making it easier to focus on the questions and your answers! \\

Well, I hoped if you're applying or thinking of applying for the DCP that this helped in any way! Comment below for further questions or contact information! :) Have a Magical Day!

About me!

Well, let's start off with the basics. My name is Aelynn Rodriguez, and I live in the one and only Houston, Texas. I have lived here all my life and I have an 8 year old brother who I adore. This will be my first time doing the Disney College Program and I am sooooo excited. I currently go to community college but plan to be an education major and teach at an elementary school. I live at home and this will be my first time living in a place away from my parents for an extended period of time! I applied for the Disney College Program on March 6th, 2014 and got my acceptance letter March 16th, 2014. My move in date is August 4th, 2014 and I am scheduled to stay until January 7th, but am planning on extending my internship to the full year. I am so blessed to be given this opportunity to work for Disney. My very first trip ever was for my 5th birthday. Ever since then I have wanted to work there and now I get the chance to do just that! Well that is all for now, so c...

The Tips, Tricks, and Treats of the Phone Interview!

Hello everyone, it's me again! This blog will be talking about the Disney College Program Phone Interview! I will talk about helpful tips for the interview and some possible questions the interviewer may ask over the phone. Here we go! THE TIPS AND TRICKS First of all, you want to schedule your phone interview for a time you know for sure you won't be busy or doing anything. You will also need to schedule about an hour out of your day for the interview because it can last awhile depending on your roles. Mine, however, only lasted about 20 minutes. I did my interview at 9:15 pm, that way I knew I would be free from distractions and so I can prepare that day for it. I got ready and situated for the actual interview at 9:00 pm, because I read that they may call you early (they also may call you a couple minutes late), so I wanted to be ready. I sat on my bed, because that is where I feel most comfortable at. This helped me so much because I was in a comfortable environment t...

Getting Accepted into the Disney College Program!

Hey everyone! It's been awhile since I posted...but finals are finally over so I'll be free to do this more often! This blog will be about my acceptance into the program and what all you have to do for it. One note before I go into it...The August 4th arrival peeps hit double digits about a week ago and I couldn't be more excited for that date to come! As of today I have 89 more days . YAY! Back to the blog though :) First: After your phone interview, the interviewer will tell you to expect a response (either good or bad) within 2-3 weeks of your interview. This will seem like fooorrreevvveerrr. However, you will receive a response. I got my response within 3 days of the interview, however most people will have to wait at least 2 weeks. There are 3 different responses you can receive in the email: Accepted Denied Pended Accepted means that you are in the program and will need to proceed to the other steps which I will get to later on.  Denied means you...
